OFFICIAL NOTICE FROM THE MANAGEMENT
Important Notice Regarding Updates
Funny, when I first created this website I was a 16-year-old high school student. I had aspirations to be a graphic designer and perhaps a full time pimp on the side. I wrote random gibberish, and by the looks of it, didn't bother to spell check.
7 years have passed, and as much as I'd like to deny it or forget it, as of writing this (April 10, 2009) I am approaching 23-years-old. A lot has changed, more than I could easily document here, but I still love Leon Kennedy. So at least through all of the changes, I'm remaining true to my fundamental likes and dislikes the same way I always have and always will.
Did I become a graphic designer? Not quite. I do a lot of graphic design working on the marketing team for a financial resolution company. I was initially hired as a marketing writer, but the position has grown to encompass graphic design, web design, and a slew of other duties. I love experience I'm gaining, but I mourn the loss of my free time during the week. I work 10-11 hour days.
It may seem like the website has been static for years. Quite the contrary! I've written pages of content that I've wanted to add to Man In Uniform over the years, but I never found the time to make the updates a reality. My weekends are spent on random adventures, hanging with my boy and friends, gardening, and perusing artistic stimulation. I'm interested in helping the community now and contributing to the awareness of causes I believe in now, and not just being a menace to society.
I can say without hesitation that Man In Uniform is my favorite website. I've forged some long-lasting friendships and enjoyed every moment of updating and creating this website. That's why I knew that although I am extremely busy, I had to make time to update this website and make it an up-to-date representation of my skills. The crap that was up before, that wasn't representative of who I am anymore, and I couldn't have that reflecting poorly on me any longer. I've had writing instructors who have begged me to stop cursing and made me write long papers to justify why I SHOULD curse, and I took their lessons with me into uh, semi-adulthood. But I now know there's a way to incorporate my raunchy attitude while still coming off as intelligent, bitches.
So to conclude the long essay, I'd like to thank all of my supporters. The people who've stayed in touch over the years, the visitors that keep coming back and asking for updates, and new visitors that are young, enthusiastic, and willing to share Leon media and pictures. I will continue to upkeep the website to the best of my abilities, and hopefully more changes and incarnations will come as I grow as a writer and a person.
Thank you for reading,
Vanessa, A.K.A "Van"
